Privacy Policy
1. Who we are
SpendWise ("we", "us", "our") is a personal expense tracking and budgeting mobile application. This Privacy Policy explains what information the app handles and how, so you can use SpendWise with confidence.
2. Data we do not collect
SpendWise is designed to work fully offline. We do not operate any server that receives your data, and the app does not include analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs. We do not collect, view, or have access to:
- Your expenses, income, budgets, savings goals, or account balances
- Receipt photos or the text extracted from them
- Your name, email address, or any account credentials (SpendWise does not require sign-up or login)
- Your location
- Advertising identifiers
3. Data stored on your device
To provide its features, SpendWise stores the following information locally, inside the app's private storage on your device only:

This information is stored in a local database on your device and is never uploaded to us or to any third party. If you uninstall the app or clear its storage, this data is permanently deleted. SpendWise has no cloud backup or sync feature at this time.
4. Permissions the app requests

| Biometric / Face & Fingerprint unlock | To let you lock the app with your device's built-in biometric authentication. Your biometric data is handled entirely by your device's operating system — SpendWise never receives or stores it. |
| Notifications | To remind you about upcoming bills, subscriptions, and budget alerts you set inside the app. |
You can review or revoke any of these permissions at any time from your device's system settings.
5. Third-party services
On-device text recognition used for receipt scanning runs locally on your device and does not send images or text to us or to any external server. SpendWise does not integrate any third-party analytics, advertising, or crash-reporting services that transmit your personal data off your device.
6. Data sharing
We do not sell, rent, or share your data with advertisers, data brokers, or any other third party, because we do not collect it in the first place. There is nothing on our servers to share — your information never leaves your device under normal use of the app.
7. Children's privacy
SpendWise is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect any information from children, in line with Section 3 above (we don't collect personal data at all).
8. Your choices & control
- You can delete any expense, income entry, receipt, or goal directly within the app.
- You can clear all app data or uninstall the app at any time to permanently remove everything stored locally.
- You control camera, photo, biometric, and notification permissions from your device settings.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time, for example if we add an optional cloud backup or sync feature in the future. If we do, we will update the "Last updated" date above and, for material changes, notify you inside the app before the change takes effect.
